Kabir Khan (Template:Lang-hi; born 1971) is an Indian film director, screenwriter, and cinematographer of documentary and Bollywood films. He is known for his blockbuster action film, Ek Tha Tiger.[1][2]

Career[edit | edit source]

A graduate of Kirori Mal College, Delhi University, Khan started his career as a cinematographer for the documentary film, Beyond the Himalayas (1995) which was directed by Gautam Ghose and later aired on Discovery Channel.

Khan made his directorial debut with the documentary, The Forgotten Army (1999) based on Subhas Chandra Bose's Indian National Army. This was followed by The Taliban Years and Beyond, and The Titanic Sinks in Kabul (2001).[1][3] He later made two Bollywood films, Kabul Express in 2006 and the hit New York in 2009.

Khan directed the film Ek Tha Tiger, starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, which was released on 15 August 2012. It became a worldwide blockbuster and the second-highest-grossing film in the history of Bollywood. The film broke opening records throughout India and went on to have a hugely successful run.Template:Citation needed

Khan is currently working on his next film produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and starring Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif. This will be his first time working with Saif Ali Khan and his third association with Katrina Kaif.

Khan is married to TV host Mini Mathur.[4] They have a son, Vivaan and a daughter, Sanya.[5]
